Tirupati is located at a distance of about 48 km from Venkatagiri. Situated at the southern edge of the Eastern ghats in Andhra Pradesh, Tirupati, is surrounded by seven picturesque hills, which have perennial water falls, forests and superb views of valleys. Considered to be the holiest of holy lands for Hindus... Tirupati is a must visit for every devout Hindu, at least once in a lifetime. Being the richest temple in the whole world, it is of little wonder then, that the outer walls of the sanctum sanctorum are covered in sheets of gold. This ancient temple is located on top of the last of seven hills, which are covered with lush greenery and dense forests.


This temple is located on the banks of River Swarnamukhi is a famous pilgrimage destination. The Shiva Linga here is worshipped as Vayu Linga or Air, and is one among the sacred Pancha Bhutha Lingas, which are five Shiva temples representing the five elements of nature, namely, air, water, earth, space and fire. An oil lamp is seen to be constantly flickering in the sanctum, even while the others are motionless. Srikalahasti is 36 km from Venkatagiri. The Lord is believed to have been worshipped by a spider (Sri), a snake (Kala) and an elephant (Hasti). Hence the place is called, Srikalahasti.

Sri Pragada Kotaiah Memorial Indian Institute of Handloom Technology was established in memory of late Sri Pragada Kotaiah, (Rajyasabha Member) M.P, the renowned weavers leader of Andhra Pradesh. This Institute is one of the 8 Institutes in India under the control of Development Commissioner for Handlooms, New Delhi Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Sriharikota is an island and a forest like area, situated on the National Highway No.5 to Chennai- Kolkata, to the east of Sullurupet in-between Pulicat Lake and Bay of Bengal. The ancient residents of this island were Toorpu Reddis and Challa Yanadis, who led a primitive way of life.
